About Gearbox files

Gearbox and transmission control unit (TCU) files cover automatic, DSG, DCT, CVT and robotised gearbox controllers. Use them to recover a TCU after a failed flash, to update or downgrade the software version, to fit a used gearbox controller to another car, or as a base for adaptation and coding work. Files are listed by gearbox type, part number, hardware number and software number and are supplied exactly as read from the unit. Match the numbers on your TCU label before writing. Secure payment, instant download, and file requests for any version not listed.

Gearbox files: frequently asked questions

Which gearbox controllers are covered?
Automatic, DSG, S-tronic, DCT, CVT and robotised gearbox control units from VAG, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Hyundai/Kia, Toyota and others. Each file is listed by TCU part number and software version. Match the numbers on the controller label before writing.
How do I know that a file matches my ECU?
Compare the hardware number and software number printed on the ECU label (or read by your tool) with the numbers in the product title and attributes. They must match exactly; a different software version is a different file. If you are not sure, send us the numbers and a photo of the label before buying.
How is the file delivered?
Immediately after payment the file appears in your account under Downloads and a link is sent by e-mail. The file stays in your account, so you can download it again later. Files are delivered as ZIP archives containing the read exactly as it came from the unit.
The file I need is not listed. Can you supply it?
Yes. Use the file request form or e-mail us the vehicle, ECU model, hardware and software numbers. Most requests are sourced within a few hours, and the file is then added to the shop for you to purchase and download.
Can't find your Gearbox file?Send us the ECU model, hardware and software numbers. Most requests are sourced the same day and added to the shop for instant download.
