DCM7.1B and DCM6.2C ECU Files for Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Jumper: Original, Immo Off, BSI
A 2019 Peugeot Boxer 2.2 BlueHDi arrives after another workshop tried an OBD tune with a cloned tool. The ECU answers on the diagnostic line, but the engine runs rough, the fault memory shows a checksum error and the tuner has vanished. The label under the bracket reads 9824601180. That is the Delphi DCM7.1B, and the fix is a stock file, not a second tune.
Two Delphi units, two engines
Delphi DCM7.1B controls the 2.2 BlueHDi in the Boxer and Jumper from 2019 on most vans. DCM6.2C sits on the 2.0 BlueHDi versions of the same vans from around 2016. Both are Delphi designs, both share the PSA ten-digit numbering, and both are paired to the BSI. They differ in processor and memory layout, so a tool that reads one will not always read the other, and the files never cross over.
Part numbers on the label
PSA labels carry a hardware number and a software number. The hardware number is the same across dozens of vans; the software number is what tells the files apart. From our catalogue:
- PEUGEOT BOXER DCM7.1B 9824601180 9696660880
- PEUGEOT BOXER DCM7.1B 9824601180 9699190580
- PEUGEOT BOXER DCM7.1B 9824601180 9698280080
- CITROEN JUMPER DCM7.1B 9824601180 9698280380
- CITROEN JUMPER DCM6.2C 9809447780 9693294280
- PEUGEOT BOXER DCM6.2C 9809447780 9692365980 IMMO OFF
- PEUGEOT BOXER DCM6.2C 9809447780 9692895380 IMMO OFF
- CITROEN JUMPER DCM6.2C 9809447780 9694269680 IMMO OFF
Every DCM7.1B we list uses 9824601180 as hardware, and every DCM6.2C uses 9809447780. If you search by hardware alone you get the whole family; the second number picks the exact calibration. When the label is gone, the software number is readable in the ID block of a bench read.
What went wrong on the bench
Three cases we see regularly on these vans:
- OBD write interrupted. The DCM7.1B accepts OBD flashing with KESS3 and Autotuner on most software versions, but the process takes a while and the van needs a stable supply. When it stops halfway the ECU may still identify but run the wrong data, or refuse to run at all. Bench recovery with Flex or New Trasdata, then the original file, fixes it.
- Immo off written over a bad EEPROM. An immo off patch works on the flash, but if the EEPROM already holds corrupted data from a previous failed pairing, the van still won’t start. Read both areas before writing anything.
- Wrong Delphi variant. A DCM6.2C file written to a DCM6.2 (without the C), or the reverse. The connector looks the same. Check the full label.
BSI pairing versus immo off
On PSA the engine ECU learns its code from the BSI at first key-on and stays locked to it. A replacement DCM7.1B or DCM6.2C from another van needs either a virgin state and a Diagbox pairing (telecoding, then the immobiliser learning), or an immo off file so it ignores the BSI code entirely. Diagbox pairing is the cleaner option when the BSI is sound and the van will see a dealer later. Immo off is the option when the BSI is the failed part, the van is a fleet unit and time matters, or the replacement ECU came without a clean history. The immo off guide goes into what stays and what goes.
Short answers
Can the DCM7.1B be read via OBD for a backup?
Yes on most versions with KESS3, Autotuner or Flex in OBD mode. Do it before any tune; a read costs minutes, a missing backup costs a day.
Does the file fix an AdBlue or DPF fault?
No. A stock file returns the ECU to standard; SCR or DPF faults need diagnosis on the hardware. Emission deletes are separate files and, in the EU, only for vehicles that leave public roads.
Is DCM6.2C the same as the one on a 308 or 3008?
Same family, different calibrations and often different hardware numbers. Van and car files do not swap.
To order, send a photo of the label with both numbers and tell us the van, year and what you want done. The request form is the fastest route; if you want to browse first, the DCM7.1B and DCM6.2C pages list what’s ready, and the Peugeot catalogue covers the rest of the range.
